Key Alley, East Lawn - University of Virginia Projects

Project Materials

After removing old surface, we re-graded and then laid an asphalt base and brown stone surface treatment on top.

The historic UVA Academic Village is connected with pathways, gardens and small alleyways for vehicular traffic. The current traffic load on these alleys roadways is considerably greater than the originally designed for. These alleys have been rebuilt with deeper stone subbase, asphalt base and surfaced with a brown stone surface treatment to replicate the original loose aggregate texture. In this instance, we had to remove the old surface before re-grading and paving this historic alleyway to pavilion.
